Consumer Energy Crisis And the Need for Attic Radiant Barriers

If it wasn't bad enough, given the current disastrous state of the U.S. economy, with the stock market in complete turmoil, food and gasoline prices at an all time high, consumers are now facing energy prices, for both heating and cooling, that are off the chart! This is all happening at a time when we are being told; expect hotter summers and colder winters in the years to come.

Home Energy Conservation

In addition to these difficult financial conditions the government; federal, state and local, is asking everyone to build and live more "green". Supposedly, this is being done in an effort to reduce the greenhouse affect on our planet, as well as reducing our dependence on foreign oil. We all know that there are good reasons to do this and we are constantly reminded of these good reasons, everyday, on television, radio and newspapers, as well as on various internet blogs. However, almost all of the things we're being asked to do, cost us money! Money, most people can ill afford to spend, given the current cost of living and other economic perils, affecting not only our daily life but also our financial plans for the future.

Energy Conservation Products

There is something we can do, something that I have personally done, that will result in immediate savings in your costs of energy, while improving your own personal comfort, during these stressful times. Whether you live in Florida, California, Maine or Minnesota, the installation of an aluminum Attic Radiant Barrier will drastically reduce your attic heat gain and heat loss. We are not saying that you should not upgrade your windows, increase your attic insulation, or any of the many other energy savings ideas, being promoted by your local gas or electric providers. However, none of these other energy improvements will provide you the amount of comfort, and immediate savings, that the installation of an attic radiant barrier will. For example, in the summertime, it is reasonable to expect a minimum reduction in attic heat gain of; between 25-30%. That amount of attic temperature reduction can result in a major lowering of your monthly cooling costs, as well as lengthen the life span of your cooling equipment. When considering ways to reduce your costs, without having to spend money that will take you years to recover, consider an attic radiant barrier, a proven product, a product that should be mandatory in new residential construction, throughout the U.S., as it is presently, in 10 of 16 California climate zones, under the California Energy Code (CEC), for the last three years.

The continued use and dependence on fossil fuels, by power companies, is greatly reduced when your personal consumption of energy (air-conditioning and heating) is drastically reduced, due to the installation of an attic radiant barrier.
