Approved Installations Of Aluma-Foil RB In  New Construction

Contractor applied Aluma-Foil  HD is much more cost effective to install than a factory applied product.  AFS stocks  product ready to ship to the job site (orders generally ship within 8 hours from the time of ordering)

Specification Information:

Aluma-Foil  HD radiant barrier as provided by Advanced Foil Systems 1-800-421-5947, shall be attached directly to roof sheathing, prior to installation, as per manufacturers recommendations.

Note:  Cover all gable end walls with radiant barrier to completely enclose the attic envelope.

Applied Over Trusses Prior To Sheathing Roof:

Specification Information:

Aluma-Foil  HD radiant barrier as provided by Advanced Foil Systems 1-800-421-5947, shall be directly applied over roof trusses prior to sheathing roof, as per manufacturers recommendations.

Note:  Cover all gable end walls with radiant barrier to completely enclose the attic envelope.

Secured (stapled) To Bottom Of Truss:

Specification Information:

Aluma-Foil Plus radiant barrier as provided by Advanced Foil Systems 1-800-421-5947, shall be secured to bottom side of trusses leaving an airspace between roof decking and radiant barrier as per manufacturers recommendations.

Note:  Cover all gable end walls with radiant barrier to completely enclose the attic envelope.

There has been a great deal of confusion lately with regards to the installation requirements for attic radiant barriers under the 2001 California Title 24 Supplemental Code, effective June 1.  We hope the following will assist you in answering your questions.  If not, or you need further clarification, please call us at 1-800-421-5947.
